Jerudong Park, a treasure trove of memories.

Like I said in my previous post, I went to Jerudong Park with Munibah on Friday evening, just after exams ended (still can't believe they have!!).

For those who don't know, Jerudong Park used to be Brunei's #1 biggest tourist attraction and hotspot. The largest and most expensive (to build) amusement park in South East Asia. EVERYBODY went there, ALL the time!

It's the combination of a massive playground, an ampitheatre (where the king of pop himself Michael Jackson played a FREE concert in 1996. Lol every Bruneian is so proud of that!!) and a theme park with zillions of free rides that was originally built for royalty but was then opened to public like... 15 years ago?

I don't think I can explain in words just how amazing JP used to be. As a kid, taking the long drive to JP on weekends was like the BIGGEST treat. It was the most wonderful, magical place in the world. Brunei's very own little Disneyland.

More than a decade later, it's only a shadow of its former glory, with only like 10 rides operating and you've to pay. But I still felt like I needed to go back there one last time before I leave *tear-filled eyes*

It says "Know Our Country". Well, it's not my country, but after living here for 15 years, I like to think I know it pretty well.

Say hi to Mun looking all professional with her DSLR!

At what used to be Snakes & Ladders (a massive board game painted onto the floor) near the entrance of Phase 1 (Phase 2, with the rollercoaster and all the other exciting rides has been shut down).

HAHA WTF I look like I just escaped from an asylum!!

Wheeee we can has be Arabian princesses!

I LOVE this backlit photo!! The soft dusky light gives it such a dreamy, almost vintage appearance *joy*

You can't tell but I was holding on for dear life! So scared I was gonna hit my head/lose my balance and fall off. All while managing to take a nice photo! Dunno why it didn't occur to me to just SIT on the swing like Mun.

The carousel was our first stop! My fave ride as a little kid. I used to be damn scared of the horses that bobbed up and down though hahaha.

I can has white horsie with pink reigns hehe!

Love this photo! Feels like everything is moving except her.

Pretty paintings on the inside roof of the carousel.

A drove, a string, a troop, a herd, of horses! (There's also like goats and lions and strangely, rabbits.)

Mun while waiting in front of the bumper cars. That a dinosaur's ass behind her!

We had to wait AGES for the bumper car uncle to come and switch on the ride for us.  From daytime it became night T_T

I swear my bumper car was faulty!! Suai I had to pick the one that started rumbling and shaking as though it was gonna explode whenever I accelerated fml. And Mun and I were the only two cars there, fol. After we finished, a whole group of maybe 8 ppl started lining up. Double FOL!!

Observe Munibah posing calmly in her bumper car while I proceed to happily ram mine into the side.
My neck hurt for days afterward cause I got minor whiplash one of the thousand times that Munibah banged into me. I guess it serves me right for not bothering to put on the seatbelts. I somehow thought they were unnecessary cause I didn't think the jolting would be THAT violent D: Then when I saw the other people after us all putting on their seatbelts, I was like, "Wah! So kuai one!" I bet they didn't get any whiplash.

A colourful but thoroughly unexciting spinning ride.

I was really afraid that it would spin really fast and the chairs would lift up at kuazhang 90 degrees angle, so I kept making my mom ask the ride operator if it was scary and he kept having to reassure us that it wasn't and then looked at us as though we were nuts.

Turns out he had reason to! It spins slowly and the chairs just go up and down a bit, e.g.:

After that ride, we still had one more ride left on our tickets (the shooting game I initially wanted to play was closed for some reason *grumble*) so we went on the kids' Pirate Ship! For "kids", mind you...

BUT HOLY MAMA!!! That was the scariest ride I've sat on in a LONG time!! Knn the ship flew up so high at such a steep angle I thought I was gonna fly out of my seat!!!! Somemore no seatbelts one! Me and Mun screamed through the ENTIRE thing HAHAHA!! SO MUCH FUN. Not even exaggerating.

If anybody is going to JP anytime soon, you HAVE to go on the Pirate Ship. My legs were wobbly for quite a while afterwards *satisfied*

After that it was like past 7 already, stomach rumbling like mad and I was so exhausted (I'd only slept like 4 hours the night before), so excuse any constipated facial expressions in the photos we took on the way out.

All these taken in front of the paddleboat fountain on the bridge that leads to the carousel. Very repetitive lol sorry.

Hahaha I look super rotund and pear-shaped in this photo!! Must remember never to pose like that ever again.
Me and my mommy ♥

Photos of the Crystal Arch and the fountain at the entrance to Phase 1.

I've always thought the crsytal looks like the solitaire diamond on expensive engagement rings! I can just imagine some giantess bride's finger fitting snugly into the lubang under the arch.

I love this photo!! If only it were more focused :(
Me and my mom in front of the Crystal Arch.

Classic jakun-ism tyvm :D

This is pretty much the exact same spot as the next photo, except this one was taken 12 years ago. I'm the little one in the red skirt and that's @ohsuzanne and my maternal grandparents

The end!

Sorry I can't seem to think of any creative ways to end this post. Bye? I've to go eat dinner now? Lol!

Oh by the way, I graduate tomorrow wheeee! Gonna stuff my skirt pockets full of tissues!!

Mike Tompkins - all day, every day!

Blogging at an abominable time lol! It's 3.15 am and no school tomorrow cause of study leave. Yes it feels 10 million times weirder than it sounds :S

So I'm doing cartwheels in the treasure trove of nail art blogs I recently found (but am too kiasu to share at the moment). These French girls really know what they're doing!!

Anyway, thought I'd finally get around to sharing my 2 favourite songs right now to listen to and which I keep on repeat as MUCH as possible:

Saw Ashley's Tumblr just now and she beat me to this!!! I really wish Tumblr had a commenting option for people who aren't registered with them :(

You make me, feel like I'm livin' a TEENAGE DREAM!
And when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for a while, cause you're amazing, JUST THE WAY YOU ARE.

We gone light it up, like it's DY-NA-MITE!

This guy is SO FREAKING cool! And he's hot to boot ;) But married FML, at 23?!?!? Gratitude to Callistus for giving me the link to his videos which ultimately sparked my craze wheeee.

I can't believe I'm never gonna get to kacau him (Callistus, not Mike Tompkins) in class again T__T (As if I didn't do that till puas already last year LOL). He actually told me he's gonna miss me hahaha wtf, then I got kinda emo D:

So many people I'm gonna miss so much after this year. So depressing. Okay I'll go sleep my sadness away now, nanait.

But before that, I shall listen to Mike Tompkins one more time hehehe!

P/S: I meant to include this in my previous post but forgot. Blogger finally modified their photo uploader!!! So happy can now do bulk photo uploading, gonna save me soooo much time :D (Yes I know I'm very outdated lol.)

A sudden addiction to online shopping!

There's something to be said about being cooped up at home every day and not being allowed out to satisfy my window shopping cravings...

IT DRIVES ME INSANE!!!

I am sitting here, brooding, forever building a longer and massively longer shopping list full of useless crap I don't need and don't even really want! I only fantasize about them because I CAN'T HAVE 'EM RIGHT NOW. Ugh.

So what is a shopaholic to do when estranged from the nearest mall? Turn to ONLINE SHOPS of course!!!

I have, although, learnt to buy only because of necessity and not on impulse because I think the item is pretty/cute/eye-catching/dead-cheap-must-bai.

I've tried to be as reasonable as possible and so far have found six things that I absolutely cannot live without!

1.) Signature Minerals' Concealers! In Soft Mint and Soft Sunshine. From Simply Naturale.

I blame Tuach for this. Bad influence! Only RM10 per sample 5g jar though!!! And works like MAGIC and LIGHT as a feather. PLUS, free Pos Ekspres shipping within Malaysia!!! Excessive exclamation marks = extreme enthusiasm :D

2.) Signature Minerals' Rose blusher! From Simply Naturale.

Because I am sick and tired of my stupid unobliging Maybelline Apricot blush. Stupid thing forces me to SCRUB it onto my face!! And it's also a shimmer blush, totally unsuitable for prom flash photography. Also RM10 per sample jar with free postage!

3.) The Sticker Monster's pink bow Decoden!

Been looking high and low in local shops for something like this to put on my phone and voila! This one's only RM2/piece (promo price) with yes, you guessed it, free postage within Malaysia!!!

Better than that stupid cheat money Minimaos which charges RM6 for postage (somemore put ugly and uninformative product images on the site), you can eat my turds thanks.

4.) The Sticker Monster's epoxy glue!

This is just cause the price looks appealing and I'm sien to go out and find epoxy glue in stationery stores hahaha. Only RM4/bottle (the bottle is mad tiny though, I hope it'll be enough!) and also free postage, duh!!!

5.) The Sticker Monster's protective blinging film!

RM15 for an A4 sheet which I'm actually quite simtiah to buy, but at least it'll guarantee there won't be any WORSE simtiah-ness if I accidentally bling my phone/any other gadget wrongly! Now I can bling freely with no worries *phew*

My experience so far with The Sticker Monster has been GREAT! The girl who runs it (Jolene @ www.jayelleenelial.com) is an absolute darling and so friendly and accomodating. Plus she replies emails super fast!! I would definitely buy from her again and highly recommend The Sticker Monster as well!!!

6.) Beauty Splash's gel eyeliner!

For a long time, I've gone with bare minimum eye makeup - only mascara. But nowadays I'm realizing the wonders that eyeliner can do for your eyes!!! Makes them look like 10 times bigger just like that! *snaps fingers* And for some reason the only eyeliner I own is a dark brown pencil so it's time I made a sound investment! And cause I'm kiamsiap, my "investment" costs only SGD9.90 :D

7.) Last but not least, Beauty Splash's false eyelashes!

Don't you just love the shape of these false lashes??? Nice falsies are SO hard to find... most are either too short, too long, too sparse, too kuazhang, etc etc etc. And best of all, these are only SGD9.90 for 8 pairs! With, what else could it be but, free postage within Singapore!!! But again, I'm gonna pay an extra SGD2 for registered mail cause I have no idea what the Singapore postal system is like!

My experience with Beauty Splash so far has been... less than encouraging though. FOUR days after emailing them and I STILL haven't received any reply -_- But I shall persevere if only because I really like their stuff and it's so cheap!

I'm fast learning that online shopping can look fun and easy but get SERIOUSLY stressful if you have to deal with unprofessional sellers, which is why the two things I love the most are FREE/CHEAP POSTAGE and EXCELLENT + FAST CUSTOMER SERVICE ♥♥♥

Good customer service is sooo underrated these days, which is a real pity.

So yeah, anybody feeling the tickling urge to SHOP but is stuck at home, I encourage you to check out these sites!!! TOTAL gratification guaranteed cause it's so cheap and you won't regret it!

Unless your stuff get lost in the mail which you can either prevent by praying really REALLY hard (not recommended :P) or shelling out just a little bit more for safer postage methods. Like me!

I go through the trouble to buy buy buy, if it doesn't sampai, I WILL DAI T____T (crap that is the most awesome rhyming sentence ever)

After Mock Exams somebody (preferably with an Amicion discount card *exaggerated wink*) needs to pei me to go to the mall to blow off my B$20 Face Shop voucher and buy 3 new Konad plates!!! I'm thinking of getting m59, m62 and m71 to continue the building of a horifically large collection :)

Oh oh!! And talking about shopping, today I bought THE MOST GORGEOUS shade of vintagey frosted dusty rose pink (I know right, so long the name I invented for it wtf) satin from Galleria YMRM!!! For my prom dress bow and it's only B$4.90/metre cause of sales! I didn't know it was possible to be THIS in love with a fabric ♥ *sighs happily*

Okay that's it for today, I'll see you again tomorrow! I hope you had as much fun taking a peek into my shopping cart as I had... well, shopping! Have I suceeded in tempting you yet?? :D
