Mascara is my thing.

But I think you already know that ;)

My sole mascara of choice is of course, the Maybelline New York Volum' Express Hypercurl Cat Eyes Mascara (the name so bloody long, from now on I'll just call it Cat Eyes). I guess you could call this a (biased) review.

Together with my kick-ass Face Shop eyelash curler (only B$3.90 go buy go buy!!), it's the secret to my long, fierce lashes.

No mascara I've ever used (of this price) has even come CLOSE to doing what the Cat Eyes mascara can. For every girl unsatisfied with her lashes, it's a purchase you'll never regret. In fact, like me, you'll wanna buy more than just one!

A little introduction to the mascara I'm talking about, in case you don't know. This is the Maybelline Volum' Express Hypercurl Cat Eyes Mascara promotional advertisement.

From my own experience, here are some pros about the Cat Eyes mascara (sorry, got no cons, bwahahaha):

  • Separates and combs out all your lashes -- each and every one!
  • Almost 100% clump-free
  • Very smooth application with the precise comb wand
  • It feels light on my lashes and doesn't weigh them down at all
  • Extremely waterproof -- doesn't smudge, flake or run, even survives rubbing!
  • Fast, easy and neat to apply
  • Definitely lengthens and volumizes lashes

The spiky comb wand I love.

I already have 2 tubes (1 is unopened), yet I want even more. Although I still find the new B$16 price tag abominable. I think I'll just wait till I'm in Malaysia again in March. Or beg ask my sister to buy some for me. Only RM27.90 hello!

This mascara is a true all-around winner, so easy to use and such amazing results. It's one of my best, if not the best, purchases of all time. I don't know what I'll do when they stop selling it! It's literally changed my life.

Tadah!

June 2009. When I first bought the mascara.

September 2009.

November 2009.

14th January 2010.

22nd January 2010: After wearing it for 9 hours (half the time promised in the advertisement, because really, who wears mascara for 18 hours straight please.) A typical 12-9 day.
Please ignore the angry red veins in my eyes, it usually happens when I wear my contact lenses for long hours.

31st January 2010.

Anyone who complains that their lashes are too short, sparse, straight, light, whatever, go buy this mascara now!! Guardian or Hua Ho. Faster before they stop selling it! It's sibeh easy to put on I aced it on my first try ever so I don't wanna hear excuses either!

But no, to be realistic, your lashes will not look like those in the advertisement, sorry. For that, you'll need some fake eyelashes... like Lady Gaga.

Chocolate... shoes?!

Who knew, two of my favourite things, shoes and chocolates could be combined into one! No, seriously.

Step aside, Dorothy's ruby slippers! (Pun not intended, lol.) Check these out...

Orange and dark chocolate peep-toe and dark and white chocolate zebra print!

Dark chocolate with pink strawberry polka dots, milk chocolate with pink polka dots, pink strawberry chocolate with dark chocolate accents and white chocolate with dark chocolate accents.

Dark chocolate with gold dust and milk chocolate with silver dust.

Dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate.

If you're wondering where on earth these amazing creations are from, they're made by Gayle's Chocolates and you can even buy them online! They cost around $40 US dollars per shoe.

I think if I ever bought one, or received it as a gift, I really wouldn't be able to eat it! They're just way too pretty. I'd just keep them in my fridge and take them out to stare at everyday :D Or even try to wear them!

You wouldn't seriously think of eating such gorgeous chocolate shoes, would you??

On second thought, I can almost imagine myself biting off the stiletto heel of one of those chocolate shoes... how satisfying would that feel!

But just almost.

Yes, I bake!

Spent 2 consecutive Sundays baking the cookies that I've been craving so much. Reason I did it twice was cause the first time was kind of a fail :(

I got the recipe from Maria, and it's for absolutely sinfully good PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES! I won't share the recipe la, cause I don't think she wants me too. Lol, we bakers have secret recipes! :D

And yes, to all of you who don't know, I do bake. But not as much as Maria la! Unlike her, I don't have a special baking kitchen in my house T___T

Don't think just cause I'm so vain and high maintenance, etc that I don't do um... home-makery things! I can sew too! Cross stitch bwahahahaha. And like, yeah. Don't always be too fast to judge :)

Good news is, the 2nd time they turned out much better! Nice and soft and chewy, just enough peanuty flavour and chocolatey goodness :D Still not as yummy as Mar's, but I think maybe I'm getting there...
