Hiatus and happy holidays.

(Written on 17/09 @ approx 4.20 pm)

The 3rd term holidays are finally upon us; a much needed study break, and the solution to afternoons spent snoozing instead of studying. Yay!…?

So, happy holidays everyone.

Although it'll probably feel more like being in a detention facility than holidays with my mom hovering over me day and night with a whip in hand, making sure I study. Oh, I'm so excited.

And of course, Happy Birthday, Yie Chynn!

Anyways, thanks to PMB starting on October 16th (it's been brought forward by 2 days... Great, just great), I’ll be going on an internet hiatus so as to, ahem, allow myself to focus on my “studies”.

God, I can’t imagine a month and a half without internet. And what do I get instead? Bloody textbooks. I think I’m going to go crazy just thinking about it.

I’ll be back in November so see you then.

Adios and wish me luck.

Whatever.

School today set new international heights in the field of boredom. I can’t believe I stayed up all night last night doing my Computer h/w (yeah, can you believe it? Me, doing h/w!) when Mrs. Karen Chin didn’t even go through them. -.-

Precious sleeping time… wasted! So, I took advantage of four free periods (cool eh?) to catch some shut eye and get rid of the sand in my eyes.

My mom wants me to take some cool innovative dietary supplement tablets that promise “energy all day”. *scoffs* I’d like to see them pull that one on me.

Reports books are being given out tomorrow, but we all already know what we got, so no biggie. Tomorrow is also, incidentally, the last day of school before holidays. Thank God.

Anyway, yes, the race in Monza yesterday did suck. They started with a safety car, it rained, and Lewis was a total machine. Though congrats to Vettel for his first ever win. And the Italian national anthem did end up being played—just for a different team.

Kimi’s finally completely out of contention for the driver’s championship (not spoken in a happy way). Well, he’ll still have next year to try again because he’s not retiring! *does a celebratory dance* He’s confirmed with Ferrari till 2010. We Kimi fans have two more years to revel in his Finnish, slurry-English (Kim-lish) glory.
After that, we’ll look out for little Kimi juniors :D

Lunch time. *wonders what she’ll be having* *is reminded of Ashley and Jesnie’s constant rants of “I’m hungry!”* ;) And after that, I’m really hoping to study some Science…

... Yeah, right.

Colgate.

(Written on 16/09 @ approx. 2.50 pm)

Okay, so, I wasn’t going to write today, but well, you’ll know later on why I did. Squeamish people, look away now. I’d like today to go down in history as the day I stuck my hand down a toilet bowl.

A used toilet bowl.

I nearly threw up. Anyway, wanna know why? Why I put my hand in a toilet bowl, not why I threw up, ‘cause that’s obvious. Duh.

I accidentally dropped my toothpaste in the toilet bowl :( So now I’m gonna need a new one. No way on earth am I ever touching that with my bare hands ever again.

Would you? And then use it on your toothbrush to stick in your mouth? That’s as bad as drinking… okay, nevermind, don’t wanna imagine that.

Oh, and don’t worry, I had enough sense to wear a glove. But I still washed my hands something like five times with antibacterial soap afterwards.

Ewwwwwwww, gali. I can’t believe I stuck my hand in a pee-filled toilet bowl.

Well, good thing is (hard to believe there is one, eh?), now I’m completely wide awake, so maybe I can get in some study time.

Or do a manicure. You know, whichever’s more convenient. After all, my hands are in need of some pampering.

Coffee (and other) cravings.

I don’t quite know why I’ve turned info a coffee addict as of late. Well, I know how it started, but not why I can’t stop drinking it. It’s not like I can even remotely stand the bitter taste. I firmly believe lots of cream and sugar is the only way to go.

When I finally find it in myself to give in to my coffee craving, I almost immediately get a post-caffeine stomachache. Like God’s little punishment. But does this deter me the second time around?

Nuh-uh, not on your life.

Addictions are funny like that.

Homemade Nescafe ;)

Iced Mocha Oreo from West Street Café.

Coffee Bean’s Mocha Ice Blended.

And did I mention I also have a habit of photographing them? And everything else on the surface of the earth...?

Among other cravings are donuts (Bakerlyn’s), cheese cake (Coffee Bean’s), Fruit Loops (don’t ask, I know what they say about it being chock-full of cyanide, blah, blah), PB & J sandwiches with bananas (got the idea from
Seventeen magazine) and good ol’ chocolate. And a banana split (Swensen’s).

And new shoes :P

Santa, are you writing all this down? You’d better be.

Basically, just anything loaded with more sugar than is healthy for human consumption (‘cept the shoes). Which really isn’t good considering I have a family history of heart disease (ooh, scary). I do, however, believe that meeting the perfect pair of shoes will indeed send me into cardiac arrest.

But what’s life for if not to enjoy?

And randomly, I want a French manicure. There’s no assembly during bulan Ramadhan anyway. I’m just usually lazy. Meh, what’s new?

Time to go watch Formula 1. It’s gonna be a sucky race, so right now I’m praying for divine intervention. Fingers crossed.

Adios.

Weck Mich Auf!

(Written on 13/09 @ approx. 7.25 pm)

That's German for ‘wake me up’, by the way.

Okay, I know I’m supposed to be studying like some kind of maniac, but the thing is, I can’t stop falling asleep.

How on earth does everyone else do it??

I swear, someone should alert the medical boards about this:boring textbooks > Xanax. And interestingly, an overdose of them is also believed to be lethal. Approach with caution. Do not exceed the stated dose. And most importantly: keep away from everyone children.

I’m referring to textbooks, of course.

Even coffee doesn’t help on most days. The scenario goes pretty much like this: get home from school at 1 pm (nowadays 12 pm, praise puasa), have lunch, then coffee at 2. Out cold by 2.30, not to be seen or heard from again till 7 pm.
So, you see, that kinda puts a damper on any studying plans I might have. Now, this is the real medical mystery doctors should be searching for a cure for.

Oh, could you imagine… textbook-in-a-pill! Sweet.
Reminds me of Willa Wonka…

Anyway, school: I could barely stay awake today, must've yawned about once every second.
Mrs Simmonds, undoubtedly the devil’s advocate, instructed us to finish our entire Science past-year paper book (it's empty!) over the holidays. Ada jua yang dalam kertas. What, does she want us to commit suicide?!
And there was a Geography test. It went quite well, considering I was too lazy to study. It was the government schools’ qualifying exam paper. So, all of you who sat for that… hehe. Imho, the paper was much easier than our mocks. SAS are meanies :(

P/S: Coincidentally, the voting period for the 2008 MTV Latin American Awards (Los Premios) has also started. Go
here to find out just what the hell I'm talking about.

Unavoidable Mental Instability.

(Written on 10/09 @ approx. 2.20 pm)

School was… how do I put this…? Boring. By mid-morning, my good mood had completely dissipated, largely due to a double period of Science with Mrs. Simmonds (though it was fun playing with electromagnetic circuits). She told us we had to start studying. Like I needed yet another blatant reminder.

Studying. Just the thought of it sends me into a state of delusioned mental instablity. And I'm pretty sure I speak for most of the country's schooling population when I say that. Yet, it's something completely unavoidable (much to my chagrin).

I really don't think it's healthy that I still haven't started for PMB. Studying, obviously. Except for that crap job that I did for the mock exams. Which, very shockingly, actually produced some good results. T’was a huge relief, to be honest.

I’ll study soon. My goal as of now is not to wait till the 3rd term holidays. I promised myself I'd start studying when September began, but it's now the 10th... and nada. I'm such a born procrastinator. I’m quite certain it runs in the family.

The MTV Europe Music Awards are rolling around again, just after the MTV Video Music Awards, where I actually applaud Britney Spears for a clean sweep. Good on her for beating the critics and getting her life back together, because it can't be easy. (Note: Do not mistake this comment for me being a Britney fan. I’m not.)

The EMAs will be on November 6th (zOmfg, that’s after PMB O.O) in Liverpool, to be exact. It's weird how time flies by so quickly, and it's that time of the year again. It's time to put the lawsuit drama aside, and gear up for some good ol’ power-voting, and hopefully bag the Rock Out award for the 2nd year running, and add another MTV gong to our new trophy room.

Which reminds me, the Kerrang! Awards happened recently, and we brought home two K!'s. One of the best parts was the acceptance speech for Best International Band, which Tomo made in Croation (his native language).

Photobucket

(Attention: those not fond of crude profanities, look away now.)
Shannon, always the naughty (perverted) boy, made him say “suck my c*ck” in Croation. So, he ended with “Puši mi kurac i imajte dobar noć!” loosely translated as “Suck my c*ck and have a good night!” So completely random. You can listen to it here if you want, and the translation is... somewhere.

Anyway, go here to check out the pre-nominees and vote for your favourite artist.

Cheers, everyone.

P/S: Good luck at Monza, Kimi. Give Ferrari fans something to cheer about. Just don’t let him win it.

P/P/S: I never did get around to doing that Computer h/w yesterday. Lol. I found it much nicer to sleep. No surprises there.

Monumental-ism (?)

(Written on 09/09 @ approx. 1 am)

Okay, here goes nothing. The monumental first post. If you could call it that. Mental would be a more fitting description, if you ask me. I have no idea what to write, which means this post will probably be full of crap that provides absolutely no intellectual gain and perhaps just a slight bit of mental (no pun intended) stimulation. Whee.

That said, do bear with me for this extra-long, multi-picture post.

(Disclaimer: I swear to you now that this blog will not turn into a website for the shameless promotion of 30 Seconds To Mars. God knows I do enough of that in other places. Just a few random lines here and there, is all.)

The blog name is, by no means, random. MarsArmy Girl (sometimes Mags) is a name I picked well over a year ago as my alias in the world of 30 Seconds To Mars. It was printed on the back of a 30 Seconds To Mars shirt on sale at the official online merchandise store.

I now own that shirt (in pink, no less), as a tribute to that fateful first day when I chose the name and it all began. It’s the name I’m known all over the world in the 30 Seconds To Mars/Echelon community as, other than Stella. So, then, why not a blog name?

Photobucket
The pink shirt and uber-fierce (Christian Siriano. xD) wristband (Jai, you rock my socks off.). It was kind of a birthday present. To myself. Yeah, I know, kinda pathetic. But it cost me all my Chinese New Year ang-pau money, just to give you an idea of how overpriced the official merch is. And yet I bought it. Call me crazy. I probably am.

The day I turned 15, me and a bunch of people hit up Charcoal BBQ and Grill for lunch.

Photobucket
I ordered a virgin pina colada for B$6.90, and it sucked. Stank, reeked, ranked, nauseated. And any other derogatory verb I can think of to describe one of the most expensive drinks I’ve ever bought in my life. Tasted like santan, imho. I don’t get what the big hype over it is about anyway. Maybe it tastes better with alcohol. I wouldn’t know, at least not till I’m 18.

Photobucket
The food (or lame excuse for it) wasn’t any better. Overall, it was a big disappointment. Needless to say, I won’t be going back there again anytime soon. Stupid Mun, I can’t believe I let her talk me into going there.

I’m supposed to be studying Geography (because I suck royally at it) but instead I’m typing random musings. I’ve always been addicted to opinions. Like at the forum. Well, it is a brilliant, well-devised escape from the monotony of daily life which makes me want to claw my eyes out with my bare hands on some days. But let’s not go there on the very first post.

Anyway, I happen to have 3 Computer past-year papers to finish before 2 am and it’s now already 1.30 (Mrs. Karen Chin is so going to decapitate me and hang my bloody corpse—I nearly typed carcass—outside the classroom for vultures to pick at) and all I want to do is fall asleep watching tv. And eat donuts. :)

To the homework!

P/S: A very belated happy birthday to Munibah. Ily, b*tch. Thanks for the diabetes-inducing brownie cheese cake.
