Let's try a few scenes to demonstrate my point...
Scene 1: A bunch of guys waiting for their girlfriends (or friends who are girls) to rifle through their hundreds of clothes deciding which one to wear, and then one guy will stick his clumsy hand into a closet, manage to somehow pull out the most hideous item of clothing owned by said girl, and say in an impatient tone, "Here, why don't you just wear this one, so nice!" -___-
Scene 2: A guy takes his girlfriend shopping on her birthday so he can buy her a new dress/(slutty nightgown?), and in every shop they go into, he manages to pick the most ghastly-coloured, un-body flattering outfit there. In the end, the girlfriend gets exasperated, requests for his credit card, and promptly sends him home.
Ring a bell?? :D
I'm starting to think that that's probably not very true. Sure, I'm willing to bet that there are guys out there who are fashion-challenged when it comes to the plethora of girls' garments, but I think they're actually in the minority.
I was chatting with Wilson a few nights ago and we were looking at prom dresses together (which was actually fun), because I mentioned that I'd bought mine already and he began Googling for prom dresses which he thought were nice.
This was one of the dresses he showed me:
Then I scolded him for showing me chio prom dresses cause I was afraid I might regret buying mine :P
But s'okay, I still love my gorgeous lacy princessy number to death ♥ *runs to bedroom, flings open closet doors and hugs dress for reassurance*
