Obviously, the first thing you'll notice about my blog today is that it looks very different! I spent the last few days preparing for a redecoration and I finally put the finishing touches and implemented it today, which was why those who visited my blog earlier could not view it.
And I'm going to describe it all to you in detail because I'm just so kind! Sharing is caring. And also 'cause I want you to know how much bloody hard work I put into it. But I think this might only be enjoyable for fellow enthusiastic bloggers :D
Of course, the background is new. It's from a wonderful blogging tools website I stumbled upon called The Cutest Blog on the Block, created by 2 friends who are moms, Becky and Ashley. They've got the hugest variety of backgrounds, something for everyone.
And I no longer have that ugly and annoying Blogger navigation bar at the top of my blog! Definitely a cool trick.
I made a signature-divider combo to put between each of my posts. The divider is from the awesome Shabby Blogs (Megan Hastings is a goddess!) and the font downloaded free from Kevin and Amanda, which has so many cute fonts and useful blog customizing tutorials.
I also turned my post and sidebar titles into a chio custom font that looks kinda like my handwriting! They're also from Kevin and Amanda and I learnt how to do it from there too. It took me a whole 3 hours to do it because the process is so complicated and the website used loads so damn slowly.
The matching custom sidebar divider I put in is made from a flower button and polka-dotted ribbon and then edited and joined together, both taken from Kevin and Amanda.
I changed my sidebar babble button to a framed chalkboard style, and added a new animated blinkie which features one of my favourite quotes, both also courtesy of Shabby Blogs.
I added pop-up taglines to all the clickable icons in my sidebar so now you'll know what you're clicking on. You'll get what I mean if you hover over them with your cursor.
I changed that horrible ugly orange B (Blogger) icon on the browser titlebar to a cute pink queen crown! Another very cool trick to know.
And last but not least, I added a cute little birdy Twitter button edited to match my blog colours in my Twitter column, from Twitter Buttons.
I hope you guys like it! :) And a proper blog post is coming tomorrow, I promise. I have like... around 10 more really awesome posts in the pipelines that need to be prepped and published. I'm not stopping anytime soon!
